One thing that's nice about knitting with yarn that's made from 100% wool fiber, like Full o' Sheep, is that you can felt it when you're done. Felting --in case you've never tried it -- is the process whereby heat, friction, and moisture combine to make wool fibers matt together. Felting a knit project usually involves nothing more than tossing the completed item into a washing machine, together with an old pair of jeans (to help with the agitation/friction part), and washing it with hot water. When it comes out of the machine: voila! A felted project, no longer stretchy like the original, but instead solid. Felting is great for bags and slippers, and one of the most popular projects I've seen made so far with my Full o' Sheep yarn are the wonderfully cute French Press Felted Slippers. the pattern for which may be ordered online for just $7.50, and downloaded. Since that pattern calls for bulky wool and Full o' Sheep is worsted, all you need to do is work with two strands of yarn at the same time and you should get the same result. One pair of slippers only takes 2 balls of Full O' Sheep, which sells for just $4.99 a ball. And there you go: a super-cute pair of slippers for under 20 bucks! Check out the ones that Ravelry members have already made:
