STITCH NATION by Debbie Stoller™ "Washable Ewe": 1 ball 3525 Dragon Fly.
Crochet Hook: 4mm [US G-6].
Yarn needle.
GAUGE: 3½ pattern repeats = 4"; 8 rounds = 4" in pattern. Note: One pattern repeat consists of 3 dc and one ch-1. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size hook to obtain the gauge.
NOTE: Hand warmers are worked in joined rounds, with right side always facing you. Join at the end of each round, but do not turn.
HAND WARMER (make 2)
Ch 42; taking care not to twist ch; join with slip st in first ch to form a ring.
Round 1 (Lower Edge): [Skip next 2 ch, 5 hdc in next ch, skip next 2 ch, sc in next ch] 7 times; join with slip st in first hdc—Seven 5-hdc groups.
Round 2 (Right Side): Flip work over and work in bottom of foundation ch, slip st in each ch to ch at base of first 5-hdc group, ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in same ch (at base of first 5-hdc group), [ch 1, 3 dc in ch at base of next 5-hdc group] 6 times, ch 1; join with slip st in top of beginning ch-3—Seven 3-dc groups.
Round 3: Ch 4 (counts as dc, ch 1), [3 dc in next ch-1 space, ch 1] 6 times, 2 dc in last ch-1 space; join with slip st in 3rd ch of beginning ch-4.
Round 4: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in first ch-1 space, [ch 1, 3 dc in next ch-1 space] 6 times, ch 1; join with slip st in top of beginning ch-3.
Rounds 5 and 6: Repeat Rounds 3 and 4.
Round 7: Ch 5 (counts as dc, ch 2), [3 dc in next ch-1 space, ch 2] 6 times, 2 dc in last ch-1 space; join with slip st in 3rd ch of beginning ch-5.
Round 8: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in first ch-2 space, [ch 2, 3 dc in next ch-2 space] 6 times, ch 2; join with slip st in top of beginning ch-3.
Round 9: Ch 5 (counts as dc, ch 2), [3 dc in next ch-2 space, ch 2] 6 times, 2 dc in last ch-2 space; join with slip st in 3rd ch of beginning ch-5.
Rounds 10 and 11: Repeat Rounds 8 and 9.
Round 12: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in first ch-2 space, [ch 2, 3 dc in next ch-2 space] 5 times, ch 2, dc in last ch-2 space, do not join.
Round 13 (Thumb Opening): Ch 8 (for thumb opening), dc in top of beginning ch-3 of Round 12, [ch 2, 3 dc in next ch-2 space] 5 times, ch 2, 2 dc in next ch-2 space; join with slip st in 3rd ch of ch-8.
Round 14: Ch 3 (counts as dc), 2 dc in same ch-8 space, [ch 2, 3 dc in next ch-2 space] 6 times, ch 2; join with slip st in top of beginning ch-3.
Round 15: Ch 1, 5 hdc in next dc (center dc of 3-dc group), sc in next ch-2 space, [5 hdc in center dc of next 3-dc group, sc in next ch-2 space] 6 times; join with slip st in first hdc. Fasten off.
FINISHING
Weave in ends.
