MATERIALS
Stitch Nation by Debbie Stoller™ "Alpaca Love™"
PINK COLORWAY (shown): 1 ball: 3350 Espresso Bean A, 2 balls each, 3920 Ruby B, and 3650 Lotus C.
 
BLUE COLORWAY: 1 ball: 3350 Espresso Bean A, 2 balls each, 3520 Peacock Feather B, and 3810 Lake C.
 
 
Knitting Needles: 6.5 mm [10.5 US].
Circular Knitting Needles: 5.5 mm [9 US] 16".
Yarn needle, stitch marker, stitch holders (2).
 
GAUGE: 14 sts = 4";21 rows = 4" in pattern stitch. CHECK YOUR GAUGE. Use any size needles to obtain the gauge.
 
Stripe Pattern (front and back)
6 rows C, 6 rows B.
Repeat for pattern.
 
Stripe Pattern (sleeves)
2 rows C, 2 rows B.
Repeat for pattern.
 
Pullover
Back
With knitting needles and A cast on 42 sts.
Row 1 (right side): * K2, p2; repeat from * across.
Repeat Row 1 three times more for K2, p2 rib.
Next Row (right side): Begin St st and Stripe Pattern for front and back, and work even until piece measures 7½" from beginning, ending with a wrong side row.
 
Shape Armholes
Bind off 3 sts at beginning of next 2 rows–36 sts.
Work even until piece measures 12½" from beginning, ending with a wrong side row.
 
Shape Shoulders
Bind off 5 sts at beginning of next 4 rows. Place remaining 16 sts on holder for back neck.
 
Front
Work same as back until piece measures 11" from beginning, ending with a wrong side row.
 
Divide for Neck and Shoulders
Next Row: K15; slip next 6 sts to stitch holder for neck, join a second ball of yarn and k across remaining 15 sts. Working both sides at once with separate balls of yarn, bind off 2 sts at each neck edge, then dec 1 st at each neck edge every other row (right side) 3 times– 10 sts each side. Work 3 rows even.
 
Shape Shoulders
Next Row (right side): Bind off 5 sts at each shoulder edge 2 times.
 
Sleeves (make 2)
With knitting needles and A cast on 24 sts.
Work in K2, p2 rib same as for back.
Next Row (right side): Begin St st and Stripe Pattern for sleeves. Work 3 rows even.
Shape Sleeve
Inc 1 st at beginning and end of next row, then every fourth row 2 times, then every sixth row 4 times–38 sts.
Work even until sleeve measures 8¾" from beginning, ending with a right side row. Bind off.
 
FINISHING
Join shoulder seams
Rolled Collar
With right side facing, circular needles, and A, pick up and knit 11 sts along left front neck edge, knit across 6 sts from front neck holder, pick up and knit 11 sts along right front neck edge, knit across 16 sts on holder–44 sts. Place marker for beginning of round and join. Work 7 rounds in St st (k every round). Bind off loosely.
 
Set in sleeves. Sew side and sleeve seems. Weave in yarn ends.
